VOLUNTEER FAQ
How old do you have to be to volunteer at YC?
You must be at least 20 years old to volunteer at YC. Occasionally we make exceptions to this rule.
How many volunteers does it take to make YC Alberta run smoothly?
It takes upwards of 500 volunteers to make YC Alberta the great event that it is! So tell your friends, family, church, small group, anyone and everyone who has a passion for God! We need your help!
I have a criminal record, can I still volunteer at YC Alberta?
Applicants with previous criminal records are considered on a case by case basis. If you have a criminal record and would like to volunteer at YC Alberta please fax a criminal record check to our office at (780-490-7266)
I've been accepted to volunteer, when will I know my posting?
If you have been accepted as a Volunteer you will receive your posting around the third week of April. If you have been accepted to volunteer after that time, your posting information will either be mailed out to you before the event or you will be notified onsite. Your posting is the specific position you will be serving for the YC weekend.
Where can volunteers eat during the weekend?
There is a volunteer guest lounge located in the Agricom where volunteers can eat their meals. Volunteers posted at Rexall Place can eat in the South Club. Volunteers are provided 4 food vouchers of $5.00 each to use at Northlands throughout the weekend.
How much does parking cost for the weekend?
Parking is available at Northlands Agricom. Parking costs will be posted closer to the event day.
Can I request to be at Rexall or Agricom?
We cannot accommodate requests to be placed in Rexall or the Agricom
What's the difference between volunteering at "Rexall" and volunteering at "Agricom"?
Rexall Place and the Agricom are collectively referred to as "Northlands" and are connected via a pedway that runs above 118th Avenue. Rexall Volunteers work the main sessions which happen Friday night as well as Saturday and Sunday morning and evening. Agricom Volunteers are responsible for ensuring the afternoon activities (stages, workshops, and inflatable games) run smoothly.
